Bugaboo Creek

I just wanted to post quickly and tell all people that Bugaboo Creek has excellent customer service. Matt and I went out with some of our friends for his "last meal" before having oral surgery. The service was horrible. The waitress what negligent and the food was poor. I was very disappointed in the end, mostly with the service.

I like to write letters when I am either dissatisfied or ecstatic. I wrote a negative letter to the managers of Bugaboo Creek on their questions, comments, or complaints form on the website. I wrote the note quickly and then put more time into a formal letter that I intended to send to their corporate offices.

The next day, I received a call from the Bugaboo Creek district manager. He was very pleasant on the phone and expressed how disappointed he was that we were treated poorly at one of his restaurants. He told me that the formal letter was not needed because he had already contacted the location manager and the situation was being handled. He offered to send me some sort of compensation and thanked me for my input. I was satisfied with the conversation.

Three days later I received a letter from Bugaboo Creek with an enclosure of giftcard. The norm for such letters is that the restaurant offers a $10 card for a return visit. Bugaboo Creek went above and beyond, and sent me $80!

I used the money to take out Matt and three of our friends (the people who were with us the first night) and we still have $20 left over!

Needless to say, I am writing a nice letter now!

Welcome Baby Charlotte!

Altough my Mother-in-law won't admit it, she is quite good at getting things done. She blogs regularly, works fulltime, and has much time to spend with the family that she values so much. I saw her today, and she reminded me that I had yet to update my blog (which she checks daily). I felt that I had let her down because I have neglected to write for more than a month now. I have had plently to write about, I have just not made the time.

So, here it is Carol, my blog post!

Today, Matt and I welcomed a beautiful baby girl, and our second neice into the world. Her name is Charlotte Elise. After work we went to visit her and Rachel in the hospital. Thankfully they are both doing well. The picture is a bib that I cross-stitched as a gift for the baby.

I got teary-eyed several times thinking about the baby and how lucky she is to have such a loving and supportive family.
Seeing her got me thinking about when Matt and I have children (not for a while, so don't get excited). I can't wait to be able to hold my child in my arms for the first time, to see a smile on his/her face, and to see Matt hold them. It will be very special.

Happy birthday, Charlotte. Welcome to the big, beautiful world! We love you.
