Our Competition

Matt and I have decided to place bets on who can lose the most weight by our first anniversary (July 16th). I am so glad that we are doing this because it keeps me from cheating! I know that if I cheat, I might lose, and I can't do that!

Matt thinks it is a competition of methods. He is utilizing the "watch-what-you-eat-and-exercise-more-diet." I am attempting the South Beach Diet. Weigh in is tomorrow morning. We have almost completed our first week.

Anyone else have a wager?

Scott and I tried South Beach last summer. He lost more than 20 pounds in 3 months, and I lost about 5. Once we went on maintenance, I gained back all mine but he didn't. I didn't exercise like I should've, though, and I'm trying to renew my commitment to that.
One thing we learned to love about South Beach (after those first two weeks) was eating whole grain foods. Scott learned to like sweet potatoes microwaved with a little butter, and we both fell in love with Scottish oatmeal. We never serve white potatoes or white pasta anymore--except to the kids. Good luck to you both!
